Pianist Natsuki Hiratsuka has been described as “A pianist of great skills and sensitivity” by La Scena Musicale, while Fanfare Magazine writes “She evinces a special sensitivity to the haunting sonorities...” .
She has performed in solo and chamber music recitals in Boston, San Francisco, England, Japan, Canada, and Costa Rica. Her recent performance includes concerts at Jordan Hall in Boston, Musashino Hall in Tokyo, the French Cultural Center of Boston, Longy School of Music, Brown University, Montreal Conservatory, Canadian Music Center in Montreal, University of Alberta, Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society, Festival de Musica Credomatic in Costa Rica, and Rendez vous Musical de Laterrière in Saguenay.
Her recording of Szymanowski and Shostakovich violin sonatas as well as Lekeu and Franck violin sonatas with violinist Frederic Bednarz on Metis-Islands Record received rave reviews. Her new recording with the music of Giya Kancheli, "Sunny Night", was just released in March 2019.
Mrs. Hiratsuka has worked with instrumentalists and vocalists in Canada and the United States, and was formerly on the piano faculty of Noble & Greenough School in Massachusetts and Brown University in Rhode Island. She earned her bahchelor in music at Boston University and did graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music and San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
